Lady of Waves

I always thought them to be nothing but yarn, woven by old sailors:
Faces in the waves; teal and ephemeral apparitions dancing with tide and gale.
On this stormy day of our passage, though, I saw these spirits of water! Close to the very ship carrying me across the vast blue they rode the capricious tides, their laughter whispering in salty sea spray.
During those moments, not the slightest spark of guilt or doubt lit in my mind for not sharing their beauty with my companions or fellow travelers. The enthralling songs and features made me forget about the roaring sea and the howling winds, made hours blur into minutes and made my heart ache when they vanished as soon as the ocean around us calmed down again.
The sailors later said I should consider myself lucky. For many men have been lost to the spirits' songs; these gentle creatures are carriers of misfortune, that's what they claimed.
Whatever the truth is, on one thing, I agree with these sturdy, superstitious fellows:
I consider myself a lucky man.

I think it's the 4th time that this lady and I meet and thus she'll keep her little fluff text.

What a good weekend to draw!
Maybe I'll punch through all Waves and pull an all-nighter. Wheee!
